Geweldig nieuws! Akiyo Iyoku heeft namelijk officieel bevestigd dat de volgende Dragon Ball film in de maak is! De beste man heeft direct contact met Akira Toriama en is head of the Dragon Ball room. Hier komen mensen samen om met Akira Toriama de toekomst van Dragon Ball vorm te geven – of het nu games, manga’s of films zijn. Toei Animation heeft ook zo’n kamer. Het plan is dat de franchise na het succes van ‘Dragon Ball: Broly‘ groter wordt dan ooit voor mogelijk is gehouden.

Iyoku: We are steadily making preparations for the next Dragon Ball movie. Broly was excessively powerful, so we think things will probably head in a completely different direction next time around. We raise the bar a lot with Broly so we’re trying to avoid becoming burnt out. I think Dragon Ball will continue from here on out so we want you all to look forward to what’s coming up next.

Hayashida: There are a lot of things that we have come to see through raising the bar so much. This time we went so crazy on things such as staffing and casting that it made even myself think that it would noe be possible to get any better. But with this experience in hand we will continue to aim even higher and higher.

Iyoku: There are a bunch of things that we could not do this time, so I think whatever comes next will be even more incredible. Please look forward to it.

2020/2021?

We hebben het hier dus alleen nog over extreme pro productie, waar dit alleen de confirmatie geeft dat er nog een film komt en dat er plannen worden gemaakt. Er is nog geen script, wellicht alleen een basis verhaal. Wel zegt Iyoku dat de lat heel erg hoog is gelegd met Broly en dat ze er voor willen waken dat het te eenzijdig wordt. Er wordt dus een andere weg ingeslagen. Dit krijgen we hoogstwaarschijnlijk in 2020/2021 pas te zien.

Het is een los project van de Anime of manga. Over Dragon Ball Super wordt er gezegd dat we nog veel mogen verwachten, omdat het veel tijd heeft gekost om die Dragon Ball Rooms samen te stellen en te creëren. Er is dus veel vertrouwen.
